Field Prep Work Day

Thank you to everyone who came out for field prep work day on Saturday April 5, 2014. Our fields are looking good and the rain followed by sun is helping the grass to grow! A reminder to everyone who brought a rake or shovel and didn’t go home with it, we will have these available at the score shed at the Majors Diamond on Opening Day.

2014 Umpire Clinic on Sunday March 9 at 9AM at LMB

Dunbar Little League Majors players age 11 and 12 are eligible to be umpires at Minor B and Minor A games. Umpiring is a fun way to be involved with baseball outside of playing games, and Dunbar pays our umpires a per game honorarium of $15 for base, and $20 for plate, so it’s also a great way to earn some extra money.

If interested in umpiring this year, players must register for and attend this district-wide umpire clinic on Sunday, March 9 from 9:00 – 11:30 at Little Mountain.

The clinic will be held at LMB’s main diamond at 4595 Clancy Loranger Way. This clinic is for all new umps and those with experience with Minor B umpiring only. Umpires with experience at Minor A and adult umpires should attend the advanced session from noon to 4 PM.

The clinic will be outdoors. Attendees should dress warmly and bring rain wear.

To register for the clinic, please email Selena Chu, Dunbar Umpire Coordinator at selena_chu@hotmail.com by no later than noon on Thursday, March 6. Please include your name, email, phone number and your Majors team.

2014 Registration NOW OPEN

Regular Registration is open from Dec 1, 2013 to Jan 31, 2014.

NEW LITTLE LEAGUE REGULATIONS: There are new regulations regarding residency and eligibility to play that have been introduced this year by Little League International and apply to all Little Leagues. Basically, boundaries now allow any player who goes to a school that is physically within the boundaries of a league can play in that league. This is so school mates can play together. For Dunbar Little League, this change means any person who goes to Queen Elizabeth, Queen Elizabeth Annex, St Georges, Immaculate Conception, Southlands and Kitchener Elementary schools. As always, proof of residence or school attendance is required.
