What is T-BALL?
There are two subdivisions within T-Ball.
- TBALL 1 – 5 year olds and 6 year olds in Kindergarten
- TBALL 2 – 6 year olds and 7 year olds in Grade 1
T-Ball offers players the opportunity to learn, develop and practice fundamental baseball skills at hitting, throwing, fielding and running. The games are held on a small diamond and use a special “soft” official ball. Coaches are allowed on the field and designated parents help by taking turns umpiring. All players are on the field and rotate positions.
In TBALL 1, the ball is hit from a stationary tee. In TBALL 2, the ball is soft under- hand pitched by coaches. At least
one year of T-ball is recommended for those in TBALL 2.
The season officially begins on April 14th with the opening ceremonies. Games are played in the early weekday evenings or on weekends at Dunbar Memorial Park 33rd Avenue and Wallace. Team equipment, shirts and baseball caps are provided but players must have their own baseball glove (their own batting helmet is highly encouraged).
