This Saturday, April 9th, is a great day for the Dunbar community, as we get together at Memorial Park to open the baseball season with so much opportunity in front of us for fun, growth and sport.9:30 – 9:45 AM Teams gather in full uniform outside the Majors field fence, several “herders” will help coordinate the teams running on to the field. There will be signs where teams will line up. The parents should leave their player with their teams and move away from the staging area and find a spot to watch the opening ceremony.
For families new to baseball, this is an exciting event. We start by introducing the Majors teams and then work our way to Blastball. Players run onto the field led by their coaches and are welcomed by cheers from the crowd and high fives from our Majors players.
11:00 AM Games Start in all divisions and the concession is OPEN! PLAY BALL!!!
Opening ceremonies will proceed rain, shine or snow (yes it happened one year).
